Promotion of the traditional characteristics of Soufli city by redesigning its 2 main streets

The subject of the study was to promote the traditional characteristics of Soufli city by redesigning its 2 main streets, the main urban axis of V. Georgiou Street and part of the vertical axis of Venizelou Street that connects the old with the new city. Within the framework of the architectural design, it was proposed to perceive and functionally integrate the road and the pavements by elevating the road in order to reach the pavement’s level. The main material used was the 10X10 block that formed a grid with the geometry of knitting. Four geometric patterns were developed on this canvas using different types of blocks.
