George Delivopoulos
I am a Civil Engineer, having graduated with a Diploma in Civil Engineering (2004) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. I also hold an MSc in Transport with Business Management (2005) from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK (nowadays Newcastle University).
Since the completion of my studies I have been working in the private sector specialising in transportation infrastructure design (urban & rural roads & junctions, cycleways, traffic signaling, traffic signage, junior member of road safety audits team). My experience also includes briefly working for a contractor at a construction site of Egnatia Odos motorway, supervising the construction of highway drainage. In parallel I perform transportation analysis of new & existing insfrastructures and traffic management measures using microsimulation modelling software.
Since September 2017 I am a PhD candidate at the Transport Engineering Laboratory of Civil Engineering Department AUTh, trying to combine my experience in infrastructure design with traffic modelling techniques.
From January 2018 I am a member of Consortis’ infrastructure design team. I am an avid Formula 1 fan, having watched almost all races since 1993 season, and my ultimate dream is to design a Formula 1 track.
