1st Public Consultation - SUMP of the Municipality of Serres

The 1st Public Consultation in the framework of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of the Municipality of Serres took place with great success, on Thursday, June 27 2019.

The event was attended by representatives of Public and Private Institutions, as well as citizens of the Municipality of Serres. More specifically, the event was attended by representatives of the Municipality of Serres, the Chamber of Serres, the Trade Association of Serres, the Traffic Police of Serres, the Primary and Secondary Education Directorate of the Prefecture of Serres, the International Hellenic University, representatives of the Regional Unit of Serres, the Technical Chamber of Greece/Section of Serres, Organisation of Urban Transportation of Serres, the Civil Engineers Association of Serres, managers of organized parking lots, members of the interdepartmental and interdisciplinary working group of the SUMP and members of the Contractor's study group.

Several presentations have been made in order to introduce the concept to the public, the objectives, the significance and the benefits of the SUMP, as well as the process followed by the Municipality and the stages of its elaboration. The purpose of this consultation was to develop a common vision for mobility, which was achieved by involving the attendees and encouraging them to put on paper their thoughts and vision of the city in 10 years’ time.
