With full respect to the importance of the national management plan, we undertook, as consortium contractors, the 2nd Revision of the River Basin Management Plan (RBMP) of the Central Macedonia Water Region (EL10).

The 2nd Revision’s contract object for the River Basin Management Plans of the Water Region of Central Macedonia (EL10) is:

1. Updating the identification and characterisation of surface (rivers, lakes, transitional and coastal) and groundwater bodies.
2. To update the assessment/classification of the status/potential of surface (ecological, chemical), including specially modified and artificial, and groundwater systems (quantitative, qualitative).
3. The assessment of surface water bodies showing significant hydromorphological modifications.
4. To update and further develop the list of significant pressures, as included in the 1st Revision of the River Basin Management Plans, and their impacts by river basin and water body.
5. Updating the Register of Protected Areas.
6. The updating of data on planned water resource development projects/activities.
7. The review of environmental objectives for all surface and groundwater bodies.
8. The update of the Strategic Plan for Water Scarcity and Drought.
9. Assessment of progress in relation to the achievement of the environmental objectives of the Directive, as set out in the 1st Revision of the River Basin Management Plans, and clarification of the environmental objectives that have not been achieved.
